Youth Exchange 08/06/2024 – 15/06/2024 in Tallinn, Estonia

EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing youth exchange has been completed successfully. The project Cyber Shadows “Empowering Youth Through Media Literacy” united 40 young people from Estonia, Latvia, Italy, Hungary, France, Romania, Czech Republic, and Greece. It was organized by the Estonian organization “TDM 2000 EESTI” and took place in Tallinn (Estonia) from 08 to 15 June 2024.

Aims & Objectives of the project

The aim of the youth exchange “Cyber Shadows” was to to inspire and empower young people to learn about media literacy and fight cyberbullying, in their communities and make their voices heard, bringing to light the issues that most closely affect them and bringing them closer to those in which they feel less involved.

More specifically the objectives were:

  • Exploring the power of digital tools;
  • Learning how to use the digital tools to improve the community and address social issues;
  • Acquiring key skills in critical thinking, digital knowledge and collaboration.

Workshops & Activities of the project

Through this project, participants had the opportunity to work with a non-formal methodology on topics like cyberbullying, cyber security, fake news, and the power of the media in promoting social change. The exchange included workshops and non-formal educational activities such as peer to peer education brainstorming, group work, simulations, mixed of course with the use of digital platforms and tools. every country had the chance of facilitating one or more activities during the week.

It is an amazing opportunity and a great experience for EKO’s team

Chrsitos, Maria, Panagiota, Spilios, and Vanessa were the amazing Greek team members whom we want to thank for all their contributions and collaboration throughout the project!

As EKO, we are very grateful for that amazing opportunity given to the Greek team. We thank our Estonian partner TDM 2000 EESTI and the members of the hosting organization for all their hard work and for creating such an impactful project!
