EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing training course has been completed successfully. The project “Disconnect & Reconnect”  united 30 youth workers  from Slovakia, Czechia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, and Estonia. It was organized by the Slovak organization SYTEV “Slovak Youth for Travelling, Education and Learning” and took place in Krásno nad Kysucou (Slovakia) from 16 to 24 June 2024. 

Aims & Objectives of the project 

The aim of the youth exchange “Disconnect & Reconnect” was to empower youth workers with the knowledge and skills to build a healthy relationship with their smart devices and how it could affect their mental well- being. 

More specifically the objectives were:

• Reconnecting with nature through some activities that affect mental health positively; 
• Building small healthy habits that work with addictions;
• Improving mental clarity to enhance lifestyle strategies.

Workshops & Activities of the project 

Through this project, participants had the opportunity to work with a non-formal methodology on topics like addictions and how to overcome any addictive habit, mental well- being and the impact of social media on it. During the project, they participated in activities that helped them enhance their mental health like hiking to some nearby sights, daily mindfulness sessions, sound healings and body scans. In order to achieve better results participants were asked to not use their phones during the whole project and they only received them when the project ended, which was a challenge for most of them in the beginning, but after a while they got used to it. Through these activities, participants were encouraged to clear their minds and realize the importance of their mental health.
