Successful Implementation of the Co-Creation Activity in Belgium

EKO participated in the five-day ECHOES co-creation activity held in Belgium from 28 October to 1 November 2024. The activity brought together European youth workers to collaborate on a youth-led climate action initiative.

The program’s key objectives were to promote active participation, raise awareness, empower youth citizenship, and advocate for climate action, particularly during elections. The program also aimed to equip young people with the tools to combat misinformation and strengthen the Youth4Climaction Network.

Throughout the co-creation process, three key areas were addressed:

  • The development of intellectual products to guide future actions.
  • A plan for supporting local workshops and international exchanges.
  • Organising regional and international workshops with a focus on climate action.
  •

Each partner organization committed to hosting and sending two young workers for two-week exchanges. During these exchanges, participants will participate in climate-focused events and local initiatives. This will enable participants to apply what they have learned in real-world settings, hosting events and campaigns in their local communities.

The activity also highlighted the importance of innovation and inclusion in the methods used for learning, training, and teaching (LTT). The aim was to build practical advocacy, leadership, and communication skills, enabling youth workers to exchange knowledge and ideas to strengthen their collective expertise.

The short-term international exchanges fostered a shared knowledge base, which will contribute to the sustainability and impact of the Youth4Climaction network.

In conclusion, the ECHOES co-creation activity helped establish a collaborative vision for youth-driven climate advocacy, laying the foundations for a more sustainable and just future. EKO thanks CERA, our partner organization, for hosting this impactful event.
