EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing youth exchange has been completed successfully. The project “Promotion of youth social and civic participation through activism and volunteering competences” united 36 participants from Portugal, Greece,Lithuania, Romania, Croatia and Spain. It was organized by the Portuguese organization “Associação Sementes de Esperança” and took place in Alqueva, Portel, Portugal from 26 to 30 August 2025.
Aims & Objectives of the project
This transnational mobility of young people (YE) is part of the project approved under the accreditation of the Associação Sementes de Esperança at the level of the Erasmus+ Programme.
The low values of young people’s participation in democratic life reveal the need to invest in a project that promotes volunteering and activism among young Europeans as a vector for their inclusion and social and civic participation
Workshops & Activities of the project
Through this project, participants engaged in initiatives that enhanced their understanding of social and civic participation. Activities raised youth awareness of the significance of activism and volunteering competences in the community. Workshops focused on developing key competencies such as critical thinking, empathy, and effective communication, enabling young people to enhance civic participation more actively. Participants were also empowered to act as change agents within their communities, promoting inclusion, equity, and respect for diversity.
It is an amazing opportunity and a great experience for EKO’s team
Dimitris, Theodosia, Aglaia, Georgia, Ilias and Alexios were the amazing Greek team members whom we want to thank for all their contributions and collaboration throughout the project!
As EKO, we are very grateful for that amazing opportunity given to the Greek team. We thank our Portuguese partner Associação Sementes de Esperança and the members of the hosting organisation for all their hard work and for creating such an impactful project!
Thank you – Ευχαριστούμε – Obrigado
