The first session of EKO’s Youth Club took place on Wednesday, 28 January, and it was a truly engaging and uplifting experience. Young people came together in a welcoming and safe space, ready to connect, listen, and share. From the very beginning, the atmosphere felt open and supportive, allowing everyone to feel comfortable participating and expressing themselves.
As voted by the participants, the focus of the first meeting was Mental Health. Through guided discussions and open conversation, we talked about wellbeing, emotions, everyday challenges, and the pressures young adults face today. Participants shared personal experiences, thoughts, and opinions, highlighting the importance of self-care, communication, and understanding one another. The diversity of perspectives made the discussion rich and meaningful.
What stood out most was the sense of connection within the group. People listened respectfully, supported each other, and discovered that many shared similar feelings and experiences. There was laughter, reflection, and honest dialogue, reminding us how powerful it can be to talk openly in a trusted environment.
This first session marked the beginning of an ongoing journey for the EKO Youth Club. The group left feeling energized and motivated, with ideas for future topics and a shared commitment to keep the conversations going. We’re excited to continue building this space together – one that grows with the interests, needs, and voices of young people.
