Successful Implementation of the Culture in Difference Training in Rome!

EKO is pleased to announce that another amazing training course has been successfully completed. The mobility was part of the KA2 project Youths’ Premieres on Culture In Difference in Ethnic Diasporas to foster Intercultural and Intergenerational Belonging and brought together 30 young participants from Austria, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Malta and France. It was organised by the Italian organisation Associazione ValIda and took place in Rome, Italy, from 25 to 27 April 2026.

Aims & Objectives of the project

Youths’ Premieres on Culture In Difference in Ethnic Diasporas aims to foster friendships and camaraderie among youths from diverse cultural backgrounds, generate a creative community of learning and co-creation among them in which knowledge and skills in social communication and media production are acquired and acknowledged, foster social inclusion of young migrants within diaspora communities to promote a greater sense of belonging and empowerment, and share an Informal Learning Strategy and Structured Mentoring for capacity building and future upscaling.

Workshops & Activities of the project

Participants fostered a deeper understanding across diverse cultural communities, actively promoting social cohesion and reducing intercultural indifference through direct engagement and collaborative activities. During the international training in Rome, young participants worked closely with media facilitators and youth workers on creative storytelling, video production, digital communication, and social media content creation. Through hands-on workshops, they developed practical skills in filming, interviewing, editing, and producing intercultural media content that reflected the experiences and identities of diaspora communities.

The activities encouraged effective teamwork while significantly enhancing participants’ socio-emotional and intercultural literacy. By combining civic engagement with creative media expression, the project supported both personal and professional development, strengthening youth employability and communication skills.

The initiative also reinforced intergenerational dialogue within diaspora communities, cultivating a stronger sense of identity, belonging, and empowerment among young migrants. In addition, the partner organisations exchanged innovative non-formal education practices and mentoring approaches, contributing to improved youth services and creating sustainable tools and resources for future capacity building and upscaling.

It is an amazing opportunity and a great experience for EKO’s team!

Georgia, Sosi, Danai and Emmanouela were the Greek participants whom we want to thank for all their contributions and collaboration throughout the project!

As EKO, we are very grateful for that amazing opportunity given to the Greek team. We thank our Itallia partner Associazione ValIda and the members of the hosting organization for all their hard work and for creating such an impactful project!

Thank you – Ευχαριστούμε – Grazie!
