EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing training course has been completed successfully. The project CULTURAL SYNERGY AND PSYCHOLOGY: Strengthening YouthConnectionsunited 30 participants from Greece, Latvia, Estonia, Portugal, Croatia, Serbia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Italy. It was organised by the Latvian organisation WORD OUR HOME  and took place in Rezekne, Latvia, from 09 to 15  June 2025.

Aims & Objectives of the project

This Erasmus+ training course was designed to empower youth workers to address the growing issue of social alienation and disconnection in our societies. In an era where people struggle to understand perspectives different from their own, the project focused on developing the psychological and emotional tools necessary to foster empathy, connection, and mutual respect.

The core aim was to provide participants with fundamental knowledge of psychological dynamics and communication tools that support interpersonal understanding and harmony across diverse mindsets.

More specifically, the project aimed to:

–  Promote Mutual Understanding: Equip participants with knowledge about psychological vectors such as perception, emotion regulation, cognitive bias, and perspective-taking to help them better understand themselves and others.

–  Strengthen Empathy and Communication: Develop skills in active listening, nonviolent communication, and dialogue facilitation to overcome barriers caused by misunderstanding and prejudice.

–  Prevent Social Disunity: Empower youth workers to become ambassadors of cohesion by creating environments that foster openness, mutual respect, and constructive dialogue among young people.

Workshops & Activities of the project

The training course featured interactive workshops focused on psychological tools for understanding others, building empathy, and improving communication. Through practical exercises and group discussions, participants explored ways to reduce social alienation and foster mutual respect across different perspectives.

By the end of the course, youth workers felt equipped and inspired to challenge division and promote psychological resilience and unity. They returned home with renewed motivation and concrete tools to spark positive interpersonal change within their organizations and communities.

It is an amazing opportunity and a great experience for EKO’s team.
