EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing training course has been completed successfully. The project In peace with the storm united 20 young participants from Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Spain, Armenia, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, Romania, and Slovenia. It was organized by the Bulgarian organization VIA CIVIC Association and took place in Dobrinishte, Bulgaria from 30 May- 07 June 2024.

Aims & Objectives of the project

The aim of the training course “In Peace with the Storm” was to provoke participants to discover – what is the genesis of conflicts, where they are in them, and how they act – freeze, escape, or fight. And above all – how to master them so that they grow through them as individuals, to accept them as gifts of fate, sent not by chance. The project aims to improve youth workers’ understanding of the genesis of conflicts and prepare them with practical tools for their role as mediators in conflict situations.

More specifically the objectives were:

  • Going through an in-depth process of self-examination of one’s perception and behavior in a conflict situation
  • Increasing understanding of the concept of nonviolent communication and mastering practical methods for its application
  • Sharing international experience and good practice in conflict mediation as a part of the quality youth work
