EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing training course has been completed successfully. The “Mindful Money Matters” project united 44 participants from Lithuania, the Netherlands, Greece, Romania, Türkiye, Czechia, and Hungary. It was organised by the Lithuanian organisation Aktyvistai, and took place in Kaunas, Lithuania, from 7 to 17 April 2025.

Aims & Objectives of the project

This project aimed to help young people acquire the tools and knowledge necessary to navigate financial decisions while cultivating mindfulness, discipline, and sustainable practices. Financial literacy isn’t just about numbers; it’s about creating empowered citizens who can actively participate in local and regional life, contributing to healthier societies and a more inclusive Europe.

More specifically, participants:

  • Learned practical tools and methods to master financial literacy.
  • Explored sustainable entrepreneurship, digital finance management, and daily discipline.
  • Engaged in mindfulness practices to achieve balance in daily life.
  • Collaborated in a diverse, multicultural environment to share experiences and discover innovative solutions.
  • Practised non-formal education methods, building tolerance and non-violent communication skills.

The project objectives were:

  1. Enhance participants’ understanding of youth participation and promote tools to engage young people, particularly those from underrepresented groups, in local and regional activities.
  2. Raise awareness of financial literacy, sustainable entrepreneurship, and digital finance management to foster a more informed and empowered society.
  3. Promote daily discipline, mindfulness, and balance as essential personal and professional growth skills.
  4. Encourage non-formal education, tolerance, and peaceful communication while strengthening Erasmus+ partnerships and fostering international collaboration.

Workshops & Activities of the project

Through this project, participants strengthened their financial literacy and explored sustainable entrepreneurship, digital finance, and the role of mindfulness and discipline in everyday life. The programme combined practical tools with reflective activities, empowering young people to make informed decisions and engage more actively in their communities.

Workshops offered hands-on experience with budgeting, digital tools, and sustainable practices, while mindfulness sessions promoted balance, focus, and well-being. Participants exchanged experiences and co-created inclusive strategies in a diverse, intercultural setting to boost youth engagement, especially among those with fewer opportunities.

Non-formal education methods encouraged tolerance, peaceful communication, and collaboration. Inclusiveness, equality, and participation were central to the project throughout.

By the end, participants were equipped to promote financial awareness, responsible living, and active citizenship, contributing to a healthier, more inclusive Europe and the goals of Erasmus+.

It is an amazing opportunity and a great experience for EKO’s team.
