My Hero’s Riddle! From the roots of conflict to the peak of resolution
Training course 10/09/2023 – 18/08/2023 in Dobrinishte, Bulgaria
EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing training course has been successfully completed. The project “My hero’s Riddle” united 30 young participants from Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Slovakia, Netherlands, Albania, and Romania. It was organized by the Bulgarian organization Via Civic Association and took place in Dobrinishte (Bulgaria) from 10 to 18 September 2023.
Aims & Objectives of the project
The project aimed to improve the personal development of youth workers, and their motivation for youth work, and to develop a toolkit for mediation in complex conflict situations. They aimed to provide multiple paths for self-exploration and reflection, enabling participants to forge a deeper connection with their authentic selves, their role as a youth worker and nature. The focus of the project was on conflict resolution and outdoor experience.
More specifically the objectives were:
– Going through an in-depth personal development process improving social, emotional, and communication skills to build and engage community
– Increasing knowledge and skills for effective, nonviolent communication and successful conflict management.
– Developing practical skills to apply the complex methodology for personal development used in the training to youth work
– Promoting the sharing of good experiences and practice, developing intercultural cooperation, and networking
Workshops & Activities of the project
Through this project, participants had the opportunity to get better in some key competencies such as multilingual competence, personal, social and learning to learn competence. During the week, they worked with non-formal education methodology. They hiked in the Mountains up to about 2000 m above sea level! Also, they spent a night outdoors telling intercultural stories and making a fire. In summary, all team members developed different skills and competencies while acquiring new knowledge. They were able to develop skills such as a sense of initiative, creativity, teamwork, the ability to energize, practice languages, reflection, and critical thinking… and definitely lots of certain skills.
