EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing training course has been completed successfully. The project “R.I.S.E.: Rights, Inclusion, Solidarity & Empowerment” united participants from Bulgaria, Greece, Portugal, Romania and Turkiye. It was organised by the Portuguese organisation “ADDHG”, and took place in Guimarães, Portugal, from 19 to 25 April 2026.
Aims & Objectives of the project
The project aimed to empower young people and youth workers to become active promoters and defenders of human rights, equality, and dignity in their communities. Inspired by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, it focused on connecting these core principles to the real challenges young people face today, such as discrimination, gender inequality, hate speech, and social exclusion.
The project also sought to strengthen key competences including critical thinking, empathy, and intercultural communication, supporting active citizenship and respectful dialogue both online and offline. Furthermore, it aimed to equip participants with practical tools and approaches to raise awareness and take action locally, fostering inclusion and promoting social justice through youth-led initiatives.
Workshops & Activities of the project
The project was implemented through non-formal education methods, including interactive workshops, creative sessions, and intercultural dialogue. Participants explored human rights concepts and their relevance to everyday life, while sharing personal experiences and perspectives from different European contexts.
Through group work and collaborative activities, participants developed awareness-raising tools and simple actions that can be applied in their local communities. The programme also encouraged reflection, empathy-building, and peer learning, supporting participants in becoming more conscious, engaged, and proactive in promoting human rights and inclusive values.
It is an amazing opportunity and a great experience for EKO’s team.
Ioulia, Margarita, Anastasia and Daniil were the amazing Greek team members whom we want to thank for all their contributions and collaboration throughout the project!
As EKO, we are very grateful for that amazing opportunity given to the Greek team. We thank our Portuguese partner, ADDHG, and the members of the hosting organisation for all their hard work and for creating such an impactful project!
Thank you – Ευχαριστούμε – Obrigado!
