EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing training course has been completed successfully. The project Youth Leader 101united 22 participants from Croatia, North Macedonia, Spain, Turkiye, Portugal, Greece, Slovenia, Italy, Hungary, Lithuania and Bulgaria. It was organised by the Croatian organisation Argonauta, and took place in Tisno, Croatia, from 06 to 12 of March 2026.

Aims & Objectives of the project

The project aimed to empower youth workers and young people to transition from participants to effective group leaders by equipping them with essential leadership and project management competences.

Specifically, the project sought to:

– Develop the key competences of participants to understand their role and responsibilities as group leaders before, during, and after an Erasmus+ Project.

– Foster a deeper understanding of non-formal education and intercultural learning processes, enabling participants to design and facilitate engaging workshops for young people.

– Strengthen communication, organization, and problem-solving skills through experiential learning, simulations, and collaborative activities.

– Promote the exchange of good practices between organizations involved in youth mobility, encouraging active contribution and peer learning.

– Support the creation of practical educational resources that enhance the quality and impact of future youth exchanges.

Workshops & Activities of the project

The training course was based on non-formal education methods and included interactive workshops and experiential learning activities designed to strengthen participants’ leadership and facilitation competences. Through presentations, group discussions, simulations, and role-playing activities, participants explored the full cycle of an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange and the role of a group leader within it.

Workshops focused on understanding the context of Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges and non-formal education, as well as the key responsibilities of group leaders in each phase of the project: preparation, implementation, and follow-up. Participants engaged in practical exercises related to team management, intercultural communication, conflict resolution, and workshop facilitation.

Participants worked both in plenary and in smaller groups, taking part in collaborative activities, problem-solving tasks, and peer-learning sessions. Open spaces allowed for the exchange of experiences and good practices between organizations. The learning experience was further enriched through intercultural activities and reflection sessions.

A key outcome of the project was the creation of a practical guide for group leaders, a ready-to-use resource designed to support young people in effectively leading youth exchanges and ensuring long-term project impact.

It is an amazing opportunity and a great experience for EKO’s team.

Emmanouela and Foivi were the amazing Greek team members whom we want to thank for all their contributions and collaboration throughout the project!

As EKO, we are very grateful for that amazing opportunity given to the Greek team. We thank our Croatian partner, Argonauta, and the members of the hosting organisation for all their hard work and for creating such an impactful project!
