The first two local VOYCE workshops have been successfully completed!
In the context of the “Values and Opinions of Young Communities in Europe” – VOYCE project EKO implemented last week 2 local workshops that brought together ten Greek young people to share experiences and opinions on controversial issues, in a spirit of attentive listening and participatory sharing.
The first module took place on Friday, December 3rd, 2021 and focused on “Cognitive Biases and Critical Thinking”. During the workshop, the young participants had the opportunity to explore the different steps of critical thinking, learn about the most usual forms of bias and train their capacity to critically analyze different opinions and perspectives on important social topics (e.g. immigration without restrictions, legalization of euthanasia, legalization of sex work, abortion, etc) by applying the “6 Thinking Hats” reflection method.
The second module took place on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 and was devoted to the subjects of “Othering”, “Discriminative Discourse” and “Media Representations and Interpretations”. Through the activities of the ‘Opinion Spectrum’ and the ‘Middle Ground Debate’, participants trained their capacity to first understand and second express their opinion while, at the same time, respecting very different perspectives on a variety of social issues.
Two more modules will take place soon (Saturday, December 18th, 2021) and we are eager to meet again and to continue learning together!
