EKO is happy to announce that the first of the two mobilities for the double training course has been successfully completed. The project “Sexuality and Gender Library” united 30 young participants from Estonia, Greece, and France. It was organized by the French DU GRAIN À MOUDRE and took place in Ojaäärse loodusmaja, Estonia, from 07 to 15 October 2024.
Aims & Objectives of the project
The aim of the training course “Sexuality and gender library” was to deepen participants’ knowledge of sexual and affective education, exchange and refine tools they have already implemented in their work, introduce and experiment with the Human Library method, and foster collaboration among participants to create a network of European peers for future projects focused on inclusive sexual and gender education.
More specifically, the objectives were:
-develop knowledge of the concepts linked to gender and sexuality and their history
-develop participants ability to reflect and position themselves on the topics as youth workers
-create educational tools and a toolkit about gender and sexuality useful in the
-participants’ professional life
-exchange good practices of each participant on the different topics of the project
-encourage a network of European peers working in sexual and gender education and actor’s
-synergy in future projects
Workshops & Activities of the project
During the training, participants engaged with non-formal methodologies, including icebreakers, energizers, team and group work, interactive and creative workshops, open-space discussions, evaluations, role-playing, informal gatherings, and guest visits. They also had the opportunity to share and experiment with educational tools, such as the Human Library, and explore practical applications of sexual and gender education through participatory activities. Participants exchanged experiences, visited local organizations working on gender and inclusivity issues, and reflected on the historical and cultural contexts of the topics. The training combined meaningful learning with moments of intercultural exchange, leaving participants with a positive and enriching experience.
