EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing training course has been completed successfully. The project “NorthStar: A learning design framework for youth work in a changing world” united 18 participants from Greece, Bulgaria, Belgium, Lithuania, Italy, Turkey, Poland, Spain, the Republic of North Macedonia, and Romania. It was organised by the Romanian organisation Dear Future Self Association and took place in Călărași, Romania, from 06 to 10 June 2025.
Aims & Objectives of the project
This Erasmus+ mobility is designed to empower youth workers, educators, and trainers to become intentional architects of learning experiences that truly make a difference. In an era where attention is fleeting and learning can feel disconnected, this project focuses on designing impactful, transformative learning journeys that young people will carry with them for life
More specifically, the project aims to:
– Provide Tools and Confidence: Equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills to create engaging and transformative learning experiences.
– Encourage Prototyping and Experimentation: Offer a space to build, test, and refine real program prototypes during the training.
– Foster a Collaborative Community: Connect participants with passionate peers from across Europe to create a vibrant community of practice.
– Support Real-World Application: Ensure each participant leaves with a clear plan to implement what they’ve learned, enhancing their youth work and personal development initiatives.
– Promote Long-Term Impact: Enhance the capacity of youth workers to support young people in growing, adapting, and taking ownership of their learning and future.
Workshops & Activities of the project
Throughout the training, participants immersed themselves in experiential workshops blending theory with hands-on practice. Sessions explored key learning frameworks, design thinking, motivation science, and participatory program development.
What made this experience unique was its strong focus on practice: participants didn’t just learn—they created. Each person worked on a real program, testing ideas and building prototypes with feedback from trainers and peers. Whether starting from scratch or improving something existing, participants had space to reimagine their educational approach with purpose and creativity.
The collaborative environment fostered meaningful exchange, innovation, and peer support. By the end of the mobility, participants walked away with concrete plans, tested tools, and renewed confidence to implement change in their work—and beyond.
It is an amazing opportunity and a great experience for EKO’s team.
Giorgos and Sabina were the amazing Greek team members whom we want to thank for all their contributions and collaboration throughout the project!
As EKO, we are very grateful for that amazing opportunity given to the Greek team. We thank our Romanian partner, Dear Future Self Association , and the members of the hosting organisation for all their hard work and for creating such an impactful project!
Thank you – Ευχαριστούμε – Mulțumesc!
