Aims & Objectives of the project

The project aimed to gather youth workers to gain knowledge on how to focus on cultivating the skills they need to navigate the moments of “transition”. Using theater and embodiment as the main methods, they gained awareness of their own relationship with change and uncertainty, and created a playful and supportive environment to practice embracing the unknown.

More specifically the objectives were:

  • Creativity and problem solving
  • Emotional regulation and self-esteem
  • Adaptability and curiosity
  • Collaboration and community
  • Embracing failures and taking risks

Workshops & Activities of the project

Through this project, participants had the opportunity to get better in some key competencies such as multilingual competence, personal, social, and learning to learn competence. During the week, they worked with different methodologies. Each session was focused on a specific skill, and participants had the chance to become aware of their own patterns and explore new approaches. They used different experiential learning tools that involve play, creativity, and connection with oneself and others, such as:

Improv theater: A collaborative art form that created a supportive environment to bring out their most creative and spontaneous selves, while they practiced letting go of control and trusting themselves and their scene partners.

Systemic theater: They used dramatization to explore personal and social issues, to gain a deeper understanding, find their roots, and try out approaches to transform them.

Embodiment: This method brings awareness to the body and encourages mindful movement, as a tool for self-expression and to gain a deeper understanding of the connection between the body, emotions, and mind.
