Active Youth in Digital Era

Youth Exchange 01/12/2023 – 09/12/2023 in Larnaka, Cyprus

EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing youth exchange has been successfully completed. The project “Active Youth in Digital Era” united 48 young participants from Cyprus, Bulgaria, Greece, Spain, Italy and Lithuania. It was organized by the Cypriot organization Youth Dynamics and took place in Larnaka (Cyprus) from 01  to 09 of  December 2023. 

 

Aims & Objectives of the project 

 

The project aimed to engage in learning and socializing activities without technology as much as they could, in order to address tech addiction, increase awareness, and promote responsible tech use. As the first E-Generation, youth today spend much time indoors, affecting their active lifestyles. This project

encouraged outdoor exploration to counterbalance excessive tech use and promoted healthy living. Knowledge, resources and opportunities about Erasmus+ were learnt by participants as well. 

 

More specifically the objectives were:

  • Promoting alternative learning methods without digital tools, and fostering social skills, intercultural dialogue, and cooperation
  • Exchange traditional street games from their countries
  • Promoting creativity and teamwork while addressing technology addiction

Emphasize the importance of outdoor activities and games as tools to combat internet addiction

  • Engage participants in interactive discussions, activities, and cultural events to understand and prevent addiction
  • Break the cycle of technology addiction among young people
  • Promote balanced, active lives



Workshops & Activities of the project 

 

Through this project, participants had the opportunity to get better in some key competencies such as multilingual competence, personal, social and learning to learn competence. During  the week, they worked with a non-formal methodology, they worked in groups, had creative workshops, presentations with paper and markers. In summary, all team members developed different skills and competencies while acquiring new knowledge. They were able to develop skills such as a sense of initiative, creativity, teamwork, the ability to energize, practice languages, reflection and critical thinking.

Giannis, Vaggelis, Olga, Ioanna, Paschalis, Sokratis, Ioanna and Ilektra were the members of this amazing Greek team whom we really wanna thank for all their contribution and collaboration throughout the project!

 

As EKO, we are very grateful for that amazing opportunity given to the Greek team and we thank our partner Youth Dynamics and the members of the hosting organization for all their hard work and for creating such an impactful project!
