Calling youth to be positively social

Youth exchange 14/08/2023 – 22/08/2023 in Kaunas, Lithuania

EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing youth exchange has been successfully completed. The project “Calling youth to be positively social” united 40 young participants from Lithuania, Turkey, Greece, France and Spain. It was organized by the Lithuanian organization Darnoje, and took place in Kaunas, Lithuania from 14  to 22 of August 2023. 

Aims & Objectives of the project 

The project aimed to empower youth, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to navigate the digital landscape safely and effectively. By addressing the risks and challenges associated with digital technologies, such as addiction, cyberbullying, and privacy concerns, the project seeked to enhance digital competences and promote responsible digital engagement. Through awareness-raising, skill development, and fostering a culture of inclusion, the project aimed to equip youth with the necessary tools and knowledge to make informed decisions, foster social harmony, and harness the potential of digital technologies for personal and professional growth. Knowledge, resources and opportunities about Erasmus+ were learnt by participants as well. 

More specifically the objectives were:

  • – Raise awareness about the risks and drawbacks of excessive social media use and digital technology addiction.
  • – Enhance digital competences among youth, focusing on skills related to online safety, privacy protection, and responsible digital behavior.
  • – Combat cyberbullying by providing resources, training, and support to empower youth to respond effectively and create a positive online environment.

Workshops & Activities of the project 

Through this project, participants had the opportunity to enfance some key competencies such as multilingual competence, personal, social and learning to learn competence. During  the week, they worked with a non-formal methodology, with dynamics,  they worked in small groups, had creative workshops, presentations and brainstorming with the others. In summary, all team members developed different skills and competencies while acquiring new knowledge. They were able to develop skills such as a sense of initiative, creativity, teamwork, the ability to energize, practice languages, reflection and critical thinking… and definitely lots of certain skills.

Foteini, Marios V, Konstantinos, Georgios, Marios S, Nikitas, Mary, Marios X  and Athina were the members of this amazing Greek team whom we really wanna thank for all their contribution and collaboration throughout the project!
