EcoReactEU: Addressing Eco-Anxiety in Europe through Education and Action

Launching the EcoReact site (https://ecoreact.eu/en/)

EKO is happy to announce the launching of the Εuropean platform of resources for an approach to integrating eco-anxiety in youth projects and youth policies, aiming to raise awareness about eco-anxiety, as well as providing turnkey educational resources.

Since eco-anxiety is a topic that is currently under-applied in European educational practices and barely explained, the proposal to create a European resource platform that makes the understanding of young people’s eco-anxiety accessible and provides educational tools to the educational community and the general public, contributes directly to the overall objective of the project, namely the provision of an educational response to this topic.

The initial step was the development of a report including an analysis of the current scientific knowledge on the topic, results of a survey conducted among the two main target groups, youth and youth workers, in the partners countries to identify their needs and to better understand the reality of this phenomenon in addition to the necessary literature. The educational platform also contains a variety of resources on the topic (articles, videos, podcasts, infographics), as well as educational content collected and/or created by the partners to support young people. The platform is available in the 5 languages of the partners’ countries: English, French, Italian, Greek, Italian and Dutch so as to ensure dissemination on a European scale.

The coordination of the creation of the European resource platform was undertaken by the organizing partner from France, the Ligue de l’enseignement. The remaining partners were involved in discussions concerning the mechanics, the selection of resources and the development of tools.
