Summary

For Benjamin Franklin, Investing in knowledge always yields the best interest&quot, and UNESCO (2012) also states that education – especially aimed at young people – is an essential factor in helping to slow down climate change. As young people are the future of the planet, we believe that by investing in their education and development, we are helping them to make a difference in their local communities, as they will contribute with innovative ideas, join forces with each other and raise awareness among themselves about the urgency of slowing down climate change. Based on these ideas, we decided to create this project, given the urgent need to combat climate change.

Our priorities are:

 Environment and fight against climate change
 Inclusion and diversity
 Promoting active citizenship

OBJECTIVES

Support young people in the creation and implementation of community awareness and
empowerment actions for environmental issues, through sport and nature activities.

Train Youth Technicians (JWs) to create and implement sports and nature activities that
involve young people and communities in the promotion of environmental sustainability.

Unite JWs with young people in opportunities to develop transversal skills that foster an
active and informed participation of young people in the fight against climate change.

Promote and strengthen the role of youth in the fight against climate change.

Raise awareness among a large number of key actors through events and dissemination of
results that can be adapted and replicated.
