What we did so far

We were pleased to have 12 highly-motivated youth workers from Albania, Egypt, Jordan and Tunisia to our International Training on Citizen Journalism. The training started in Athens (from 14 to 16 March) where participants learnt more about the history and theory of citizen journalism through non-formal methods. Then, the group travelled to Sofia for the second part of the training (from 18 to 20 March), where they were practicing their journalistic skills. The training finished in Bari, Italy (21 – 23 March) with a focus on combatting fake news and building raise-awareness campaigns.

The youth workers are now ready to supply local youth with valuable skills and knowledge on citizen journalism.

What We Are Doing Now

Currently, we are organizing our local training sessions in each partner country. If you are a young person interested in reporting what is happening around you in social media, come and join us.

Our Next Activities

We are working on three open educational resources for young people and youth workers, which will be available in late August 2023. The resources are Inspirational guide with best practices, Training Toolkit and Online Course on Citizen Journalism. All resources will be available in English, Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Greek, Italian and French.

Later in 2023, we will present two major events:

*International Academy and Competition

5-day International Academy for young leaders (11 – 15 September)
Citizen journalism international competition for young people (2 months)

*Multiplier Events

7 Promotional meetings in partner countries
International youth conference (Athens, Greece)
