Youth exchange 03/09/2024 – 09/09/2024 in Vila do Conde, Portugal
EKO is happy to announce that the last of the three mobilities for the trilateral youth exchange has been completed successfully. The project “Alternative crafts” united 21 young participants from Portugal, Greece and France. It was organized by the Portuguese Municipality Vila do Conde, implemented this time by the french partner IFE Corte-Vermielle, and took place in Banyuls Sur Mer (France) from 03 – 09 of September 2024.
Aims & Objectives of the project
The aim of the third mobility was to conclude all the knowledge that participants had gained during the previous mobilities. In addition, the mobility aimed to introduce to participants the techniques that French people and companies used to or still use for ship building.
More specifically the objectives were the participants to get to know:
Marine carpentry projects and typical boats
Marine local biodiversity
Local and international sustainable actions
Vermielle coast vineyard
Catalan culture
Workshops & Activities of the project
During the exchange, the participants worked with a non-formal methodology, icebreakers, energizers, team/group work, interactive and creative workshops, open space workshops, discussions, evaluation, informal gatherings, local visits, guest visits etc. Τhey also had the chance to learn specific practices and skills related to shipbuilding through non- formal activities. Participants visited local marines and spaces where they had the opportunity to watch how the ships were being built. During the project the Mayor invited the participants to his office so they had the chance to directly discull the municipality’s sustainable missions. Also they enjoyed some summer activities. Overall participants came back motivated and a bit sad because it was the last time they met their friends since this experience had come to an end.
