It was organized by the Latvian organization World our home, and took place in Rezekne (Latvia) from 16  to 22 of  October 2023.

Aims & Objectives of the project

The aim of the training course “Power of Volunteering projects” was to improve and raise the quality of

the implementation of volunteering projects with a focus on ESC and thus ensuring the higher-quality

organization, mentor, supervisor) as well as for the other target groups – different institutions, local

volunteers, local community, etc. With this project, they wanted to achieve understanding, transparency

and successful implementation of all steps of the volunteering projects as well as to provide space and

opportunity for networking and collaboration with partners in which organizations can help and

support themselves during the realization of their current and future volunteering projects.

More specifically the objectives were:

  • Project implementation
  • Understanding, transparency and successful implementation
  • Opportunities for collaboration

Workshops & Activities of the project

Through this project, participants had the opportunity to get better in some key competencies such as multilingual competence, personal, social and learning to learn competence. During  the week, they worked with a non-formal methodology on topics like solidarity, the power of volunteering, ESC and youth competences. Through workshops with amazing doodles on flipchart they approached different values of volunteering and the importance of community engagement. They used games like barnga, storytelling and treasure hunt as a method to engage the group and help them further understand the topics. Also, they visited a local youth center, where participants had the chance to meet with local organizations, prepare activities for their children and learn about their work in the local comunity.
