EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing youth exchange has been successfully completed. The project “TrARTsition” united 30 young participants from Albania, Greece, North Macedonia, Italy, Netherlands and Spain. It was organized by the Spanish organization Ecolucion, and took place in Sevilla, (Spain)  from 21 November to 02 December 2023. 

Aims & Objectives of the project 

The project aimed to raise awareness, among young people, about the current situation of the climate crisis through art. They shared 10 days of artistic creation which culminated with the realization of 4-5 mural paintings on the internal walls of a public space in the city of Sevilla. They wanted to work, discuss, rethink and learn from the threats, problems, and malpractices, capturing their conclusions in the form of art. Knowledge, resources and opportunities about Erasmus+ were learnt by participants as well.  

More specifically the objectives were:

• Raise awareness about climate crisis
• For youth to express themselves through art
• Discuss, rethink and learn about climate crisis

Workshops & Activities of the project 

Through this project, participants had the opportunity to get better in some key competencies such as multilingual competence, personal, social and learning to learn competence. During  the week, they worked with a non-formal methodology. At first they got to know each other with team building activities and they got familiar with the place of their everyday activities. During the project they did research, debates and reflections about food sovereignty, circular economy, carbon footprint and more. Also, they attended many sessions in order to search for inspiration to capture the concepts they wanted to portray. The main activity of this project was the wall painting of the Huerto del Rey Moro. So they dedicated the last days to paint their murals on the walls. This project closed with a big celebration for sharing their results in a festive gathering with the local community.
