EKO is happy to announce that one more amazing training course has been completed successfully. The project “Youth Advocates for Human Rights”  united 18 participants from Portugal, Greece,Lithuania, Romania, Turkey and Bulgaria. It was organized by the Portuguese organization “ADDHG” and took place in Guimarães, Portugal from 02 to 08 February  2025. 



Aims & Objectives of the project 

 

The training course “Youth Advocates for Human Rights” aimed to contribute to social inclusion and the social and democratic participation of young Europeans.

 

More specifically the objectives were:

 

-Involve young workers from diverse European countries in initiatives that enhance their understanding of human rights and equip them to advocate for social justice.

-Raise youth awareness of the significance of human rights and the impact of their violations on individuals and communities.

-Foster developing key competencies, such as critical thinking, empathy, and effective communication, to enable young people to promote and defend human rights actively.

-Empower participants to act as change agents within their communities, promoting inclusion, equity, and respect for diversity.

Workshops & Activities of the project 

Through this project, participants engaged in initiatives that enhanced their understanding of human rights and equipped them to advocate for social justice. Activities raised youth awareness of the significance of human rights and the impact of their violations on individuals and communities. Workshops focused on developing key competencies such as critical thinking, empathy, and effective communication, enabling young people to promote and defend human rights actively. Participants were also empowered to act as change agents within their communities, promoting inclusion, equity, and respect for diversity.
